Overview

Join us to create a fish lantern to carry in the lantern parade at Aqualumina on May 9!

Please join us to create illuminated fish lanterns to carry in Aqualumina’s lantern parade on May 9, 2026. These workshops are led by visual artists Ginny Perry and Summer Yates.

Participants will use fabric, fairy lights, and other materials to create their own unique fish lantern. You may bring any fabric scraps or special adornments you have in mind (no glitter, please). Participants will use a hot glue gun -- children under 14 should be assisted by an adult.

Limit 10 participants per session. The workshop is $20.

Perry hosts workshops on: Sunday, March 29, and April 12, 19, & 26. Yates hosts workshops on Saturdays April 11, 18, & 25, and May 2.

Aqualumina is a nighttime riverside lantern festival of music, visual art, and community, and a celebration of the beauty and vulnerability of the Delaware River and river systems worldwide.
