NHM Discussions are free online classes uniting scholars and enthusiasts for conversations on Greek history, culture, and more. Topics span mythology, art, philosophy, and diaspora. NHM Discussions is generously sponsored by the Hellenic Foundation.

The National Hellenic Museum and the Ukrainian National Museum invite audiences to explore the rich and diverse traditions of Easter across Eastern Christian communities. Spanning regions from Greece to Ukraine and beyond, this NHM Discussions panel highlights both shared foundations and distinctive local expressions.Through an accessible and engaging conversation, speakers will trace how theology, geography, and cultural exchange have shaped the celebration of Easter, from the solemnity of Holy Week to the joy of the Resurrection. The panel will also explore the sensory and communal dimensions of the holiday, including candlelit midnight services, the symbolism of light, and traditional foods such as red-dyed eggs and festive breads.By bringing together Greek and Ukrainian perspectives, this program offers insight into how faith, memory, and tradition continue to shape cultural identity across generations.
