Pohela Boishakh! Bengali New Year

Celebrate Pohela Boishakh — Bengali New Year 1433 — at King Manor Museum!

Come celebrate Pohela Boishakh — Bengali New Year — at King Manor on Saturday, April 4th! Pohela Boishakh also marks the first day of spring and a fresh start filled with abundance, prosperity, and new beginnings for Bengalis around the world.

This family-friendly festival will feature:

• CUNY City College’s Bollywood dance team — City Chaahat performance + dance workshop
• Guest-led poetry reading
• Live singing and instrument playing
• Alpona/folk art activity station
• Fun family friendly games
• Boishakhi Bazaar booths with jewelry, crafts, and henna stencils

Decor will highlight the bright colors of the festival, flower garlands, and traditional folk design banners.
