The City of Philadelphia, Department of Commerce has designated the month of March as Creative and Nighttime Economy Month in Philadelphia. We are dedicated to supporting Philadelphia creatives through entrepreneurial education while promoting our growth in the arts, culture, and creative industries. Join the Department of Commerce, Creative Philadelphia, and partner organizations throughout the month for insightful discussions featuring industry leaders and specialists on topics that help creatives start, operate, and grow their businesses in Philadelphia.

Join us for The Business of Music, Performance & Nightlife Operators, where we will highlight Philadelphia’s music, performance, and nightlife scenes as cultural powerhouses and businesses. Bringing together venue operators, artists, producers, educators, architects, and cultural leaders for an insightful conversation about sustaining creative spaces and careers in Philadelphia.

This session will explore the resources, policies, and partnerships that support live music, performance venues, festivals, nightlife operators, and youth performance spaces across the city. Panelists will explore the realities of operating in today’s creative economy, covering topics including space activation and compliance, talent development, funding pathways, and cross-sector collaboration.
