The Wednesday Webinar Series began as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic, and has blossomed into a series that impacts peers worldwide.  Each Wednesday, Consumer Connections presents a webinar that supports the values and principles of peer support.

Psychiatric Advance Directives (PADs) in New Jersey In this informative session, participants will gain a comprehensive overview of Psychiatric Advance Directives (PADs) as they relate to New Jersey law. PADs are powerful self-advocacy tools that allow individuals to outline their preferences for mental health treatment in the event of a crisis when they may be unable to make decisions. We will cover the essentials of the NJ PAD law, highlighting the critical role PADs play in empowering individuals in their recovery journey. This session is designed for individuals, families, healthcare providers, and anyone interested in learning how PADs can enhance self-determination during mental health emergencies.Key topics include:<ul><li>An overview of the NJ PAD law and its implications for individuals and providers.</li><li>The benefits of completing a PAD for individuals in recovery, as well as for healthcare professionals and providers.</li><li>Examples of what can be included in a PAD, such as treatment preferences, support contacts, and crisis interventions.</li></ul>
