Doral: Parent and Me Class - Toddler Emotion Regulation
Play-based workshop for caregivers & toddlers (2–4) to learn simple tools for calming big emotions and building connection.
Toddlers experience big emotions but don’t yet have the skills to calm themselves. This interactive caregiver-and-child class is designed to help families learn simple, play-based tools for emotional regulation and connection.
Children will practice naming feelings, expressing emotions through art, and learn to regulate emotions with play-based activities.
The Parent and Me class allows children to develop confidence, self-esteem, build social skills in a safe and nurturing environment.

During the workshop, families will participate in activities such as:
- Emotions games
- Caregiver-child calming exercises
- Arts & crafts
- Music and movement games
All activities are developmentally appropriate and designed for toddlers ages 2–4.
About the Facilitator
Anelys Perez is a Mental Health Counselor with experience supporting children and families in building emotional regulation skills through play, connection, and attachment-based approaches. She is passionate about helping caregivers feel confident and supported while nurturing their child’s emotional growth.

- Who: Caregivers and toddlers ages 2–4
- Format: Interactive caregiver-and-child workshop
- Length: Approximately 60 minutes
- What to bring: Comfortable clothing and a small snack or water if needed
- Materials: All materials will be provided
- Language: This workshop can be offered in English or bilingual (English/Spanish) upon request.
Important Notes
- This is an educational class and not a therapy session.
- Big feelings are welcome — crying and movement are part of learning.
- Children may participate at their own pace.
- Space is limited to keep the group small and supportive.
