Overview

A full day interactive in-person workshop to jump start your job search and your career.

An interactive day of information, ideas and networking to provide help and hope in your job transition and for your career

Amp Up Your Career Transition with Emotional Intelligence - Dr. Michael Brenner- Join Dr. Michael Brenner, founder and CEO of Right Chord Leadership, for this thought-provoking and motivational session on leveraging emotional intelligence (EQ) in your career transition. Michael will demonstrate how to position yourself for success in a crowded marketplace by amplifying four key dimensions of EQ: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. When you understand the critical role EQ plays in your journey and implement the tools and techniques Dr. Brenner will cover, you’ll enjoy a distinct competitive advantage over your fellow candidates.

Networking: Opening Opportunity Channels - Brenda Grove Brenda will help us to discover the best steps for conducting information meetings, building quality relationships, and tapping into the hidden job market. All jobs aren’t advertised and by having an effective networking strategy we can open doors to jobs we never would have found. It is about who you know in today’s market.

Networking Time to meet new connections

Networking over lunch with fellow participants and speakers

Leveraging LinkedIn – Amy Dinning – LinkedIn is such a critical tool to use and master for your job search. Create your profile, engage with content, build relationships, and regularly interact on LinkedIn in order to be visible. This session will include a live demo.

The Two-Speed Job Search - How to get hired in an AI-driven market without losing the human edge – Marcia O’Connor will guide us to understand that hiring now happens at two speeds: algorithms screen candidates in seconds, while humans still make decisions based on trust, clarity, and connection. In this engaging, data-backed session, we’ll break down what’s really happening in today’s job market and share proven strategies that help people get hired whether they use AI tools or prefer a more traditional, low-tech approach. The market has changed but people still hire people. Learn how to succeed at both speeds.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the workshop begins at 9 a.m. The formal part of the workshop will end at 4:00 p.m. Snacks and sandwiches will be provided; if you have special food needs, please bring your lunch.

Please register online at https://JumpStartApril2026.eventbrite.com

and pay with a credit card. We are unable to take walk-ins. Please note that online registration will close on Thursday, April 23 at 5 pm.
