City Nature Challenge Paso Robles
Learn how to contribute to the City Nature Challenge while enjoying a beautiful day outdoors with your family and community.
Team Learning Among the Oaks invites the whole family to participate in the annual City Nature Challenge with a guided bioblitz in the heart of Paso Robles.
Each year regular people like us gather together to become community scientists! Invented by community science staff, Lila Higgins at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHM) and Alison Young and Rebecca Johnson at the California Academy of Sciences (CAS), the City Nature Challenge is an international effort for people to find and document plants and wildlife in cities. It's an annual four-day global bioblitz at the end of April, where cities collaborate to see what can be accomplished when we all work toward a common goal.
You bring a smartphone and we will bring the rest! We will begin the afternoon with a picnic lunch (provided!) and instructions on how to use the iNaturalist app to engage with the natural world around you. Space is limited, so secure your tickets today. This event is FREE for you to attend thanks to the generous support of a JUSTIN Community Grant. We hope you can join us under the oaks in beautiful Paso Robles!
