Portrait-a-thon: A Live Portrait Drawing Rally!

Portrait-a-thon: A Live Portrait Drawing Rally!

612 Fillmore AveBuffalo, NY
Saturday, Apr 11 from 6 pm to 9 pm
Overview

Come for the art, stay for the vibe, and leave with a portrait that gives back!

For one evening only, you’ll have the chance to receive a custom portrait by a local artist while directly supporting free community art classes at Locust Street Art.

The ticketholders will be the subjects of the artwork—come dressed to impress! Choose from a $50 caricature, $100 30-minute portrait, or a $200 1-hour portrait, with artists assigned at random—making every portrait a surprise experience! Artists will work on the portraits live during the event in mediums ranging from watercolor to charcoal drawing. The artist names will be revealed shortly- follow our social media to see samples of their work leading up to the event! @LocustStreetArt

Ticketholders will be able to enjoy a live DJ set courtesy of Auntie K, a cash bar, and light finger foods as you watch artists create in real time. All ticket sale proceeds go towards supporting Locust Street Art in its mission to provide Free Community Art Classes!

The Details

  • Artists will be randomly assigned. Those wishing to change artists will be able to spin the wheel for another random artist for a fee of $15.
  • Artists will be positioned all around the room working with their models (you!), and everyone will be able to walk around and watch as they create!
  • Buy the ticket for your preferred portrait length and check the portrait time on the ticket! If you miss your scheduled ticket time, there is no guarantee that we will be able to reschedule your slot, and no refunds will be given on the day of the event. No matter your portrait time, you can enter the event at 6pm and stay until the end of the event- this way, you can watch all the other portraits being made!
  • Be prepared to take your artwork home at the end of the night. We will offer large paper to wrap around the piece. Pieces may be paintings or drawings of any medium; fixative spray will be supplied as needed.
  • If you would prefer the artists work from a photo (of yourself or another adult) please send it to Info@locuststreetart.org for approval before the event.
  • Tickets are likely to sell out- we do not anticipate offering sales at the door!
