Overview

Five curvy Latinas working in a tiny sewing factory in East L.A. try to meet an impossible deadline while hiding from immigration.

Five curvy Latinas working in a tiny sewing factory in East L.A. try to meet an impossible production deadline while hiding from immigration. Their determination, courage, and juicy “chisme” help them form a bond and discover their power.

Set in a tiny sewing factory in 1987 East L.A., this vibrant and heartfelt comedy follows five Mexican-American women racing against impossible deadlines to keep their small shop—and their dreams—alive. As they stitch garment after garment under the constant threat of immigration raids, the women trade sharp jokes, hard truths, and stories about love, family, and the futures they dare to imagine.

Bursting with humor and corazón, this play celebrates real women, real bodies, and the unbreakable bonds forged when women stand shoulder to shoulder.
