Communal Pen Community Writing Workshops

Communal Pen workshops are free and open to writers and storytellers of all levels. Our workshops center around a theme and consist of 3-4 short writing prompts. Communal Pen is a way to share stories and build community.

<h2>Get Ready for Roots and Routes</h2><p><br></p><p>We each have our roots; where we grew up, where our families are, and where our dreams are fostered. Our roots ground and support us, showing the routes we’ve taken to get where we are today—as well as those that wind beyond the horizon ahead of us. In this workshop, facilitated by award-winning author Joshua Cross and sociologist Lisa Winters, this workshop celebrates where we have been before and where we might go in the future. This workshop is in partnership with the Sociology Writing Competition, but the event is free and open to the public!</p>
