<h3>The New Normal: When Legal Doesn't Mean Safe</h3>Join us for our quarterly high school leadership roundtable. This collaborative session brings together school leaders from across the Chappaqua area to discuss emerging substance misuse trends and mental health challenges impacting students.For the first time in Mountainside's 27-year history, marijuana has become the primary substance for clients 25 and under. This session will explore how legalization has shifted adolescent perceptions of risk, the rise of "legal loophole" products like Delta-8 and kratom sold in gas stations and convenience stores, and the hidden academic costs of these substances on learning, memory, and motivation.The conversation will be facilitated by Jana Wu, an expert on kratom and designer drugs, who will guide us through identifying emerging substances, understanding their risks, and developing practical prevention strategies and school policies.Lunch will be served. This roundtable is designed to bridge clinical expertise with educational perspectives, creating a space for school leaders to share what they're experiencing at the ground level while learning from treatment trends to better support students together.
