Lutheran Church of the ReformationWashington, DC

Overview

Get ready to advocate for change and make your voice heard at NLIH CAPITOL HILL DAY – it's time to stand up and be heard!

Capitol Hill Day gives advocates the opportunity to meet with their members of Congress to urge them to oppose funding cuts to affordable housing and homelessness programs, expand resources for vital programs, advance anti-racist policies, and support legislation that would improve the lives of millions of low-income people. The advocacy center will be staffed by members of NLIHC’s team who will provide advocates with tools and guidance on what to expect when meeting with members of Congress during Hill Day.

The advocacy center will provide resources to empower attendees to engage in the collective action needed to protect essential housing programs and funding. Now, more than ever, your advocacy makes an impact.

Please make sure to arrive at 212 East Capitol Street no later than 9:00am. As Claudia mentioned, we will take some time to introduce ourselves, go over talking points and messaging, and determine who will attend which meeting. We will then leave for our meetings around 9:45am.If you would like to arrive earlier, you are welcome to do that - the space will be open starting at 8am, and light breakfast will be available.
