Do I have to get my own book?

Unfortunately, yes, currently, but there are dozens of public libraries, online repositories, and low-cost and used bookstores that may have the books available. We are working on grants to solve this in time, ourselves.

How are books chosen?

We have a curated list of books from several local and professional sources, their expertise helps to create a robust starting point. Books are voted on by the club at the end of the meetings, after the book that was chosen the previous month is discussed.

How does discussion work?

Kat has found and formed a list of questions that will be used to facilitate the meeting, with meetings scheduled to allow each person space to talk if there is a lot to discuss! (1.5-2 hrs)

Different clubs might focus on different genres, but this club focuses on content made for and from LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC perspectives.

Group members choose from a curated list that we create, using our connections and resources, and they can also recommend books for the group to read, if it matches the objectives of the specific club.

Currently, we meet in our Discord (first two), and are aiming to determine an in-person location for fellows to meet and chat about our readings, attend a meeting online and vote on a space with others!
