Italy at the Table: One Pot at a Time — Naples (Campania)

Private Farmette - Lovettsville, VALovettsville, VA
Saturday, Mar 14 from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm
Overview

Hands-On Neapolitan Cooking Workshop & Farmette Luncheon (21+)

🇮🇹 One Pot at a Time Series — Naples (Campania)

📍 La Farmette – Lovettsville, VA
⏱ Duration: ~3–3.5 hours
👥 Seating is intentionally limited

⭐ Real Neapolitan Home Cooking — Beyond Pizza

This immersive experience is part of Italy at the Table, a regional cooking workshop series at La Farmette exploring authentic Italian cuisine through technique, tradition, and storytelling.

The One Pot at a Time edition focuses on true Italian home cooking: dishes built in a single pot or pan, where flavor comes from timing, sequencing, and cultural know-how rather than complexity.

This is a hands-on educational cooking workshop, followed by a shared farmette luncheon.

👩‍🍳 How the Workshop Works

  • Each individual or couple has their own dedicated cooking station
  • Participants personally prepare both recipes from start to finish
  • Recipes are cooked sequentially in a calm, guided flow
  • No prior cooking experience required

🍝 What You’ll Cook (Hands-On)

Pasta e Patate (Neapolitan Style)

A classic of Neapolitan home kitchens — creamy without cream, made entirely in one pot.
You’ll learn starch control, sequencing, and why this humble dish is considered a masterpiece of cucina povera.

Polpette Napoletane

Traditional Neapolitan meatballs, mixed by hand and pan-cooked.
You’ll learn proper binding, frying technique, and why meatballs are never served with pasta in Naples.

🍽️ The Farmette Luncheon

After cooking, we gather around the table to enjoy:

  • The dishes prepared during the workshop
  • Family-style service in a relaxed, convivial setting
  • Cultural context, stories, and conversation

A traditional Neapolitan vegetable dish prepared by the instructor will complement the meal.
A few simple table accompaniments will be available to enjoy responsibly.

🎓 What Makes This Different

✔️ Fully hands-on — you make both dishes yourself
✔️ One pot / one pan cooking philosophy
✔️ Small group, dedicated stations
✔️ Authentic Southern Italian home cuisine
✔️ Rustic Loudoun County farmette setting

🎟️ Tickets

  • Individual Ticket: $135
    One participant, dedicated workstation
  • Couples Ticket: $250
Two participants sharing one dedicated workstation

Seating is limited to ensure a high-quality, hands-on experience.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • 21+ only
  • Menu may vary slightly based on seasonality
  • Please notify us in advance of dietary restrictions (not all can be accommodated)
  • This is an active, standing cooking workshop
