Intro to TIG Welding

MakeIt Members Only: More advanced welding for people who have already taken MIG

MakeIt Labs is hosting intro to TIG Welding class! Students will learn how to weld using the TIG (tungsten inert gas) method. This welding process is more advanced and it is required that students have had MIG welding experience processes first.

This class is open to MakeIt Labs members only

Students will learn in a two-hour session. The session will cover an overview of welding terminology, safety, device operation, and later demonstration and supervised hands on practice. No previous experience is needed, and this class will fully qualify students to independently run the shop welding equipement after the class. The class is not designed to make welding experts nor is it for any welding certifications. It aims to get students comfortable around welders and to learn the basics of metal fabrication to aid in project completion. This class focuses mainly on steel, however aluminum and other processes will be breifly discussed.

This class MakeIt will provide TIG welders to a Consumables kit. Hobbiest and Pro member tickets are the same fee. I recommend purchasing a pair of TiG welding gloves.

Please meet in the welding area 5 min prior to start time

The class is limited to 1 total students per session. This is done to ensure all students get sufficient hands on time with the machine.

Please be sure to bring a long sleeve shirt made from natural materials (no synthetics) and closed toe shoes

Students should consult their doctor about any health conditions prior to taking the class.

REFUND POLICY: Refunds within 2 weeks of class are up to instructor, and based upon the ability to refill the seat.
