Yes, you will be able to receive credit for this volunteer event; a total of 4 hours.

Does this event also count as a field trip under the Master Composter Course?

Accepted Answer

No, we have scheduled field trips that are credited every 2nd Saturday of the month on the same day as our Community Composting event from 11am-12pm. You will need to register for this credit under Regpack, which can be located on the NYC Community Composting Network website.

Which of the 4 tracks does this volunteer event cover for the Master Composter Course?

Organics Processing (includes hands on organics processing, compost sifting and bagging) & Compost Infrastructure (includes building wooden, heavy duty plastic and metal bins, building sifters)

Do I need to bring anything?

No, be sure to dress comfortably, we will supply participants with tools and gloves.
