The St. Olaf Band, conducted by Henry L. Dorn, will perform at Bartlett United Methodist Church on Wednesday, February 4 at 6:30 p.m.

This concert is FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. No tickets required - but online reservations welcome! This is a rescheduled concert originally set for the University of Memphis on February 3 that was cancelled.Founded in 1891, the St. Olaf Band performs the very best compositions and transcriptions for symphonic band, producing an exciting, crowd-pleasing style, and was dubbed “one of America’s preeminent bands” by The New Yorker.This tour’s program will feature works for concert band that center around the theme of “American Graffiti,” including music by Jodie Blackshaw, Norman Dello Joio, Henry L. Dorn, Eric Whitacre, and more. The centerpiece of the concert will be the premiere performance of <a href="https://www.katahjcopleymusic.com/amerykahngraffiti" title="https://www.katahjcopleymusic.com/amerykahngraffiti" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Amerykahn Graffiti</a> by Katahj Copley, which the composer describes as “a reimagining of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, painted in sound and soul, it is a journey through the Black experience — our joy, our wounds, our beauty, our rage.”Tickets available at the door.For more information about the concert and tickets, please contact us at eventbrite@stolaf.edu or 800-363-5487.
