Defending Compassion Summit | Wisconsin (March 2026)
The shadow of cruelty is spreading. Join the fight for compassion.
The world is on the precipice. Global conflict is escalating. Economic inequality is rising. And dangerous technologies and ideologies threaten the existence of life. From challenging unconstitutional ICE arrests to saving puppies from corporate cruelty, the Defending Compassion Summit will empower you to fight for the future using the tools of nonviolence.
Learn from expert activists and academics about evidence-based approaches to social change—and the key role of nonviolence. Find a community (a church, student group, or civic organization) where you can build friendships and sustain long-term action. And get ready to take action!
The summit comes in three acts:
- A panel or talk by expert activists or academics about effective strategies for change;
- A nonviolence workshop where you will put those lessons into practice;
- An “unconference” where you can brainstorm, connect, and collaborate on future projects.
Lunch on Saturday and Sunday is included in the summit fee. And there will be opportunities to put what you learn into action.
There will also be unofficial local events organized by summit participants immediately following the summit. Sign up for dates and details here: https://forms.gle/xWiSgA9w5Noj6JCf7.
By the end of the summit, you won’t feel afraid for the future. You’ll be empowered to stem the tide of violence and defend compassion.
Sponsored by supporting groups with financial support from The Simple Heart.
