Navigating Troubled Waters, in Our Politics & in Our Lives Part 2
(Or “What the f#*k is going on!?”)
We are delighted to come together again to continue the conversation we began in 2025 about Navigating Troubled Waters, in Our Politics & in Our Lives.
We’re extending to two hours this time!
Join us for a timely, enlightening & lively evening of conversation over wine (!)
Hosted by Sarah Warren, PhD, in collaboration with psychoanalyst Scott Pytluk, PhD, ABPP & Author and Professor of History, Kevin M. Schultz, PhD
We are living in extraordinary times.
Many of us share Professor Schultz’s wife’s question: “What the f#*k is going on!?”
Sharing historical insights about how we got to this divided moment, Professor Schultz will offer often-humorous stories that he has compiled in his new “snarkily titled” book, Why Everyone Hates White Liberals (including white liberals).
Dr. Pyluk will offer a deep psychological perspective on the societal and personal fragmentation we are experiencing.
We may find ourselves overwhelmed, exhausted, confused, inundated, helpless, fearful, outraged, or reeling.
Our hope for this intimate evening of conversation is that we can enjoy a glass of wine and gain a sense of perspective on what it means to live in the United States in this fractured time, and explore ways forward.
What are our paths to meaningful action?
How do we make sense - psychologically, existentially, historically - of what’s going on around us - and in us?
Weighty it all can seem, we can promise an irreverent sense of humor!
We will serve non-alcoholic beverages as an alternative to wine, as always.
PLEASE NOTE that this is an OVER 21 event and that photos will be taken and some photographs will be posted on our web site and newsletter. Please let Sarah Tolan-Mee know during the event if you do NOT wish to have your picture made public.
