2026 Great Carp Hunt

Location TBD
Saturday, June 27  •  7 AM - 5 PM
Overview

Join the Utah Lake Authority for a family-friendly fishing tournament to rid Utah Lake of the invasive carp!

What is the Great Carp Hunt?

Carp are an invasive species in Utah Lake and we want them OUT. The Great Carp Hunt is an annual fishing tournament that gets the community involved in our efforts. Help keep Utah Lake clean and prestine - and win some money!

How it works:

There will be six Saturday tournaments between April and June.

Teams consist of no more than five people. Each member will need to register and pay the $45 tournament fee. Children ages 11 and under are free.

Each tournament starts with regisration at 7 a.m. The fishing starts at 8 a.m. Catch as many carp as you can before 5 p.m. Bring back your haul and get your prize money.

NEW TO THE 2026 TOURNAMENT!

The prize money for the 2026 Great Carp Hunt will be a bounty program. For each fish a team catches, they receive $3. The Utah Lake Authority will also put $1.50 into a grand prize pot that will be awarded to the team that catches the most carp during the season. The more fish you catch, the bigger the pot. There will be two grand prize pots, one for shore fishing and one for boat fishing.
