Explore the Birds of Birch Bay Guided Field Trip

Wings Over Water Northwest is an all volunteer, non profit, tax-exempt organization. Our mission is to promote conservation, education and stewardship of the birds and their habitat in the Pacific Northwest as well as encourage ecotourism to support the economy. Wings Over Water, Northwest Birding Festival is one of the ways we provide education, while also providing the opportunity to bring significant economic benefits to this rich and pristine area.  Donations to help support our missions and Festival are most welcome!

2026 Wings Over Water Festival events for registration.

North Cascades Audubon Society will team up for this field trip along the shoreline and forested trails of Birch Bay State Park to view an abundance of birds in one of the few remaining saltwater and freshwater estuaries in north Puget Sound.This is a free event with limited space, registration recommended.A Discover Pass or a $10 day pass is required for parking within the state park. A pass can be purchased at kiosks in the park.
