Guided Birding Field Trip  at Semiahmoo  Spit

Wings Over Water Northwest is an all volunteer, non profit, tax-exempt organization. Our mission is to promote conservation, education and stewardship of the birds and their habitat in the Pacific Northwest as well as encourage ecotourism to support the economy. Wings Over Water, Northwest Birding Festival is one of the ways we provide education, while also providing the opportunity to bring significant economic benefits to this rich and pristine area.  Donations to help support our missions and Festival are most welcome!

2026 Wings Over Water Festival events for registration.

Take a leisurely walk on a paved walking trail and along the beach to view birds close at hand. Led by Paul Woodcock and Pam Borso from North Cascades Audubon Society. This guided field trip offers both the novice and experienced birder the best opportunity to explore the abundance of birds along Semiahmoo Spit, a 1.25 mile natural land spit located between Semiahmoo Bay and Drayton Harbor. Make sure to stop by the Alaska Packer’s Museum to experience the area’s maritime history. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.This is a free event. Space is limited, registration recommended. We also invite you to join us at 6 pm for our Opening Dinner and Featured Artist Reception at 6 pm (seperate registration and ticket purchase is required for the opening dinner).
