In-Trench at Strongpoint Theinert Ranch
Experience an immersive outdoor performance where dancers and veterans share powerful stories of courage, resilience, and connection.
In-Trench is an immersive, participatory performance created by and with members of the military community. Developed during a 7-day creative residency at Strongpoint Theinert Ranch in Magdalena, New Mexico, the work weaves movement, storytelling, and lived experience. Guided by professional artists with lived military experience, performers draw on the physical memory of service to share personal and collective stories. Through proximity and guided participation, audiences are invited into a space of connection, empathy, and reflection.
Performance followed by a reflection reception where audience members and artists can engage in dialogue over refreshments. As a participatory audience member, please come appropriately dressed to join us outdoors, with movement options ranging for low to high difficulty.
About the Process
In-Trench is created through Exit12’s Creative-OP model, which brings together veterans, active-duty service members, military family members, and caregivers in a mission-driven, supportive cohort. No prior performance or arts experience is required; the work is built from authentic movement, lived stories, and collective creation.
Performance Highlights
- Immersive, participatory experience
- Performed by military community members
- Original movement, storytelling, and live or recorded music
- Designed to educate and engage audiences around service and sacrifice
