Katherine is a New York Times bestselling and award-winning novelist and historian. Her most recent books are Astor: The Rise and Fall of an American Fortune, co-authored with CNN's Anderson Cooper, the novel A True Account: Hannah Masury's Sojourn Amongst the Pyrates, Written by Herself, and The Penguin Book of Pirates, an edited volume from Penguin Classics. She holds degrees from Columbia. Boston University, and the University of East Anglia, and is a fellow of the Society of American Historians. She lives in Baltimore and New England, where she is at work on her next novel.
