Join as we honor all US service members as we dedicate the Blue Star Marker at VFW Post 2838 Peace Memorial at Darien Community Park.

Join us as we honor all who have served in the United States Armed Forces by dedicating the National Garden Clubs Inc. Blue Star Memorial Marker at Darien VFW Post 2838 Peace Memorial at Darien Community Park.

Blue Star Memorial Markers extend thousands of miles across the United States, and honor all our Armed Forces of the United States. Blue Star Memorial Markers continue to be dedicated each year on highways, at Veterans’ facilities, National Cemeteries, parks, and civic and historic sites, showing our appreciation for those who defended our country.

Darien Garden Club is proud to have sponsored the installation of this marker and has plans to install patriotic themed gardens to continue to decorate this special spot for years to come.

On Armed Forces Day, we will gather with local elected officials, Garden Clubs of Illinois Inc. officers, Darien VFW Post 2838 members and the community for the dedication of the marker.
