Fairfax Art League (FAL) is a non-profit organization providing arts education and promoting local artists, with members actively participating in the planning and managing of events, exhibits and outreach. We provide members opportunities to display art at regional juried and non-juried exhibits, events, and competitions; and art education to local day care, senior centers, and the public as outlined on our Programs page. Membership includes a free dedicated online gallery, community receptions to ‘meet and greet’ member artists, continued education, promotional opportunities, and more.

<h2>Learn to start a portrait</h2>Join us in this mini workshop, Alison will demonstrate how to begin a portrait in charcoal. Attendees are invited to bring drawing supplies in order to create their own portrait drawing during the class.&nbsp;Instructor: Alison LandrySupplies to bring:<ul><li>Drawing pad / sketchbook</li><li>Charcoal, pencil and/or other drawing materials</li><li>Eraser&nbsp;</li></ul>About Alison Landry:Alison Landry is an award-winning portrait and figurative oil painter. She is the Virginia and Washington, DC ambassador to the Portrait Society of America and a regular instructor at the Workhouse Arts Center and the Yellow Barn Studio.&nbsp;
