About Chef Luca Lussoso

Luca Lussoso was born in Pescara, Italy, in 1988 and moved to Milan in 1998, where he first discovered a deep passion for the arts, photography, and global gastronomy. From an early age, food became his creative language—rooted in Italian tradition yet open to the world.

In 2012, at just 24, Luca left Italy with a strong desire to build a life across the ocean, settling in Toronto, Canada. Through resilience, discipline, and a steadfast passion for Italian cuisine, he quickly rose from line cook to chef, establishing himself as a versatile and driven culinary professional.

In 2019, Luca joined Eataly as part of the opening team for Eataly Toronto, serving as Chef de Cuisine at Trattoria Milano. Over the following years, he took on roles across multiple departments, gaining invaluable operational experience and refining his leadership style within one of the world’s most iconic Italian food brands.

A lifelong dream of moving to California came true in 2022 when Luca helped open Eataly Silicon Valley as Chef de Cuisine of Terra. His vision and impact led to his promotion as Head Chef of the entire store in 2024. That same year, he had the honor of cooking for Lamborghini during the prestigious Monterey Car Week in Pebble Beach, bringing Eataly’s culinary philosophy to one of the world’s most celebrated luxury brands.

In 2025, Luca played a key role in the launch of Eataly at Sea aboard MSC Cruises, marking another milestone in his international culinary journey. Later that year, he relocated to New York City to assume the role of Executive Chef at Eataly Flatiron, where he now oversees six restaurants along with several additional culinary concepts.

Luca’s story is a testament to passion, perseverance, and vision—a reminder that with dedication and hard work, even the boldest dreams can become reality.
