Texas Independence Day Dinner & Scholarship Fundraiser

Texas Independence Day Dinner & Scholarship Fundraiser

Rosalita's CantinaDes Peres, MO
Sunday, Mar 8 from 5 pm to 8 pm CDT
Overview

Join the Texas Exes St. Louis Chapter for our Independence Day Dinner and Scholarship Fundraiser.

Whenever two TX Exes shall meet on March 2, they all shall sit and break bread and pay tribute to the institution that made their education.

As a Texas Ex, Texas Exes holds special significance as the day that commemorates the founding of The University of Texas. Established through the Texas Constitution of 1876, the university was envisioned as a “university of the first class,” dedicated to the promotion of literature, the arts, sciences, and more. This day serves as a celebration of the foresight and vision that led to the creation of one of the nation’s leading institutions of higher education.

In 1900, the Ex-Students Association (Texas Exes) adopted a resolution which states: "Whenever two Texas Exes shall meet on March 2, they all shall sit and break bread and pay tribute to the institution that made their education possible."

Please join the Texas Exes St. Louis Chapter to celebrate the founding of our great university and to raise funds for the chapter's scholarship, awarded annually to an incoming University of Texas freshman from St. Louis.

Come out and enjoy some good mexican food, our annual chapter report, and to participate in the silent auction for some choice UT items!! As we have done the last couple of years, there is no cost to attend the event but a donation of $40 is suggested. Soft drinks, coffee, and tea included; beer, wine, and liquor available with cash bar.
