Overview

Learn to take care of yourself, reduce stress, improve your caregiving confidence, and establish balance in your life as you care for others

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an interactive, weekly small-group workshop PROVEN to empower individuals providing unpaid/informal care to older adults or adults with disabilities to make healthy choices. This series will meet every Thursday, 1-2:30pm, beginning March 5 and ending April 9th.

The skills and resources shared in this workshop aim to enhance caregiver quality of life as they navigate their (often complicated) journey of caring for a loved one. This workshop is led by two trained and certified Peer Coaches (one, or both of whom are or have been caregivers themselves).

Class participants are given The Caregiver Helpbook to accompany the class and provide additional caregiver resources. The tools and lessons of this course are proven to help:

  • Reduce stress and improve self-confidence
  • Manage time, set goals, and solve problems
  • Better communicate needs and feelings
  • Make tough decisions
  • Locate helpful resources
  • Share experiences and provide support to fellow caregivers - You are NOT alone!
