Sebastian Beckwith and friends started In Pursuit of Tea in 1999 to explore small farms in Asia and find the finest teas available, some of which seldom leave their country of origin. Each year, we spend time in historic tea-growing regions to taste the season's harvest and select the best. Introducing the West to these traditional teas—and elevating the level of service in the fine dining and hospitality industry for over 25 years—remains our mission.

What to Expect: In Pursuit of Tea invites you to slow down and explore how these timeless flavors harmonize and enhance one another. Over 75 minutes, you’ll be guided through three thoughtful pairings designed to awaken your palate and deepen your appreciation for both chocolate and tea. Each combination will highlight the nuances of the leaf—from a green tea, a black tea and an herbal—alongside the richness of artisanal chocolate from a local Hudson Valley bean-to-bar producer.This in-depth tasting is an opportunity to explore presence and connection. Whether you’re a seasoned tea drinker, a chocolate lover or simply a curious taster, you’ll leave with a new perspective on how these two simple pleasures can transform when shared together.
