Walk at Nocatee Preserve

Walk at Nocatee Preserve

210 Davis Park RdNocatee, FL
Sunday, Mar 15 from 8 am to 10 am
Overview

Join Sue Acevedo and Sue Killeen as they look for migrating birds on the Nocatee Preserve Trail.

A 2,400-acre conservation area, the Nocatee Preserve offers visitors a chance to experience Florida’s natural beauty. The preserve features over 3 miles of unpaved trails suitable for walking, jogging, mountain biking, bird watching, photography, and horseback riding.

We’ll walk a bit of the trail - starting at the northern trailhead near Ponte Vedra High School on Davis Road - which is considered an easy hike.

Over 170 bird species have been documented in the Preserve. We hope to see Wood Storks, Roseate Spoonbills, Brown-headed Nuthatches, gnatcatchers, Black-and-white Warblers, Northern Parulas, and Eastern Towhees, in addition to various species of sparrows.

Please be prepared with bug spray, good walking shoes/boots, suncreen, a hat, and water.

We encourage you to consider joining the SJRA, which you can do for as little as $15 per year. To join, use this link: https://app.joinit.com/o/st-johns-regional-audubon
