Anywhere: Snack Bags for Unhoused Neighbors thru 3.29.26

Overview

Children will assemble and decorate snack bags for unhoused neighbors supported by Huckleberry House.

Who this Anywhere Project is for:

Ages 6 -12. Not sure if this project is the right fit for your kids? Email us with questions at programs@seedsofcaring.org.

What you'll be doing:

Children will explore the realities of homelessness through a choose-your-own-adventure read aloud. Then, helping hands will show caring by decorating and assembling snack bags for unhoused youth supported by Huckleberry House.

Have a large group that's short on time? Use the self-guided tabletop resource included in your service packet.

When you'll be doing it:

This Anywhere Project can be done at home, school, or wherever you are!

This project is on-going. Families and groups may participate anytime until the project ends on March 29th. Donations may be contact-free, porch-dropped from 9am - 7pm March 27-29 at a Seeds of Caring Ambassador's home in Westerville, Clintonville, Dublin, or Powell. Addresses and instructions will be provided in your service packet.

How it all works:

Once you have completed registration, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with a link to your service packet. This packet includes project instructions, guided discussions and more. If for some reason you cannot access this file, please email programs@seedsofcaring.org for assistance.

Is this your first Seeds of Caring Anywhere Project? Check out this video to learn how it all works.

Are you registering as a group? You may find these registration instructions helpful.

The meaning-making:

Engaging children’s hearts and minds before getting their hands active with service is a vital step in raising caring, compassionate humans. In every Seeds of Caring service packet, you'll find quick, easy-to-use guides to support you in leading meaning-making conversations! This project's guided discussion focuses on homelessness.

Approximate Cost:

Approximately $3 for 1 snack bag including a healthy, salty, and sweet snack (full packing list included in service packet).

Why you'll be invited to donate:

Every time we're able to design, coordinate, and offer an opportunity for kids to give back, it's with the help of supporters like you. Please consider making a generous gift to help us continue to empower kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds.

This service opportunity is made possible through the generous support of The Center for HumanKindness and The Walter Foundation.
