StoreFrontLab is a small space for big ideas, a vessel for dialogue and public engagement. Exploring the “storefront” as a place of community, creativity and local industry, we support participatory projects that bridge disciplines and prompt discussion.

Come learn about the community-building magic of creating a lantern parade together with friends and neighbors.

Over the course of several workshops we will plan and build a community lantern parade to take place this fall. In this introductory workshop we will cover the insiration for our community lantern parade initiative and make a simple lantern. Rather than a teacher/student model, we’ll be sharing knowledge and learning together. Other details: • Workshop is limited to 12 participants. • No experience is necessary, but this workshop is for folks 18 and older. (Opportunities for kids to follow.) • All materials provided. Suggested donation of $10 helps offest material costs; all are welcome regardless of means. • Wear warm clothes and comfortable shoes, and be ready to get a little messy. • Bring any food and beverages you might want to have during the workshop. There are several places nearby to grab coffee/lunch. • Consider bringing a sketchbook and/or an apron.
