Benny Bleu and Dakota Karper are an acoustic folk duo; guitar, fiddle, banjo, singing
The Music
Clatter Connection: Dakota played at Clatter before we even had a stage or a dining room, then with a boisterous group called Hay Fever. Later she returned with a bold fiddle/cello duo. It's high time she returned, as her virtuosity and energy have been missed. Benny came through a while back with a group called Green Heron. My family and I were really taken with his calm and whimsical demeanor, welcoming and peaceful banjo style, and smart lyrics. Kind of raffi for grown-ups. Glad to have him back.
Their Bio: Benny Bleu and Dakota Karper are an acoustic folk duo weaving music from the high mountain ridges of West Virginia and the deep lakes of upstate New York into a shared soundscape. With blended vocal harmonies and meditative grooves between banjo and fiddle, their music offers a fresh, present-day perspective grounded in the traditional roots that shaped their sound. Drawing on Dakota’s Appalachian old-time lineage and Benny’s Finger Lakes banjo tradition, the duo creates intimate, transportive performances that celebrate place, community, and the ongoing story of folk music.
