Creating Hope Through Our Stories: Finding Connection in Modern America
A creative workshop taught by Thurman E. Scott
The Actors Theatre Workshop (ATW) is opening its doors to create a sanctuary for human connection in an increasingly divided world. This free scholarship workshop series invites people from all walks of life – immigrants, young people, senior citizens, business professionals – to come together, share ideas in a safe creative space, and rediscover the deep sense of humanity that connects us all.
Led by ATW's Artistic Director Thurman E. Scott, each session combines writing exercises and guided discussion to help you discover new ways to articulate and express your ideas about your life and society. Whether you attend one session or join us for the entire series, you'll learn valuable creative techniques that give you fresh tools for self-expression while connecting with a diverse community of open-minded people who are ready to listen, share, and build collective understanding.
For over 35 years, ATW has been a pillar for individual expression where you can explore your imagination, express opinions, and generate original ideas. Whether you're feeling isolated or enraged by modern life, or simply looking for meaningful dialogue about the future, this workshop offers the freedom and spontaneity to think alongside a supportive community where everyone wins.
This workshop isn't just a class; it's a gathering where your voice matters and your story is heard. Through patience, listening, and organic growth, we are building a movement that reaffirms who we are as a nation and chooses light over darkness.
