Young Environmentalists!
An opportunity for youth to explore how art and environmentalism intersect, and how to make their voices heard about the issues that matter.
2026 Marks the 5th year of this youth program, offered free of charge thanks to the support of the Madrona Institute.
In Young Environmentalists, middle and high school students have the opportunity to work with a variety of local artists, to explore how art and environmentalism intersect, and how to make their voices heard about the issues that matter most to them. We'll explore different art-making techniques each month.
March Theme: Zines and DIY Publishing (March 17th, 24th, and 31st)
April Theme: Great Islands Cleanup and Screenprinting (April 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th)
May Theme: Land Art - Installations and Plein Air (May 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th)
This year, we are switching to a drop-in format for this program. We are still requiring students to register ahead of time for planning and bus list purposes, but they are welcome to attend as many or few individual days as they'd like. Students can take the #1 bus to the Art Barn or get dropped off.
