Summer Print Retreat - monoprinting & drypoint outdoors with Fiona Fouhy
A fresh approach to printmaking outdoors in a beautiful garden, combining monoprint & drypoint techniques with artist Fiona Fouhy.
Drawing, writing and printing outside, whatever the weather *. The weekend will take you out of yourself and your usual patterns, opening up new ideas and creative opportunities. Suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike. There is space to be alone or to work alongside others. All materials are included in the cost and the weekend is non-residential.
Day 1 you will have an introduction to monotype learning several different techniques developed by Fiona. This is a gestural, playful form of printmaking, great for experimenting with ideas and working at a faster pace.
Day 2 you will learn intaglio drypoint technique (scratching into perspex) and combine this with monoprint on top. This combination of both techniques can create fun clashes of textures and unusual mark making.
This short course is great for bringing new energy to your practice and breaking through creative blocks.
The garden has been developed over 150 years by talented horticulturalists, amateur botanists, artists and landscape architects, with several diverse habitats to explore and enjoy.
*It would only be cancelled if it is going to be too windy.
