<p>Kitka Women’s Vocal Ensemble makes its New Orleans debut at the intimate New Marigny Theatre, hosted by beloved local ensemble Trendafilka. The concert offers a feast of exquisite and unusual traditional and contemporary harmonies from Balkan, Baltic, Caucasian, Mediterranean, and Slavic lands, weaving ancient village songs with bold, original, new works. Expect ravishing vocal textures, earthy dissonances, and transcendent moments of collective deep listening—an unforgettable gathering of two song circles in collaborative communion.<br><br>Trendafilka will open the evening with short set, followed by a longer headliner set by Kitka. The evening will culminate with Kitka and Trendafilka singing together in powerful polyphony.</p>
