CAP: Reporting Concerns of Child Abuse Training

CAP: Reporting Concerns of Child Abuse Training

Online event
Wednesday, Apr 8 from 1 pm to 2 pm PDT
Overview

Learn about the dynamics and prevalence of child abuse as well as how to recognize and react responsibly when there's reasonable suspicion.

About the Training:

Reporting Concerns of Child Abuse is a 1 -hour training that helps Oregon community members better understand child abuse and neglect—including most recent statistics from the Oregon Child Welfare Data Book. Participants will learn how to recognize potential signs, react responsibly, and report when there's reasonable suspicion of child abuse and neglect. The training will also review common concerns and reinforce the importance of reporting suspected child abuse.

Reporting Concerns of Child Abuse is a custom training created by Liberty House based on feedback from community members who expressed an interest in learning more about reporting. While the Mandatory Reporting for Child Abuse video from Oregon Department of Human Services is incorporated, this training is very relevant for general community members who are not legally considered mandatory reporters.

About the Facilitator:

Liberty House is the Children’s Advocacy Center serving Marion and Polk Counties in Oregon. We are your resource for the assessment, healing, and prevention of child abuse and neglect. Child abuse is common, possible to heal, and largely preventable. Our Prevention Department provides trainings and education in English and Spanish to help keep children safe.
