With this roundtable conversation we will hear from church leaders and those who work closely with women and families navigating pregnancy crises and abortion-related experiences. Through real stories and shared wisdom, we will reflect on both helpful and unhelpful examples of church practice—within Sunday services, small groups, pastoral care, and church culture more broadly.Very few churches speak openly about abortion or pregnancy crises. However, we believe it is possible to speak with grace, mercy, compassion, honesty and clarity! To be both Gospel-centered and deeply person-oriented—offering truth that heals rather than wounds, and care that reflects the heart of Christ.Fear, shame, uncertainty, and discomfort often keep these realities silent and unspoken — yet they are not absent from our congregations. Women and men are sitting in our pews right now facing unexpected or unplanned pregnancies, or another crisis in pregnancy, unsure who they can trust or where they can turn. Others quietly carry the weight of a past abortion, often alone.As the Church, when we are aware of the need, how do we respond?Whether you are a pastor, leader, volunteer, or church member seeking to better understand how—or if—it’s possible to engage with political and cultural issues while loving and supporting others well, this roundtable is for you.We invite you to join us as we consider what it could look like to be church that responds in ways that reflect the beauty of Jesus who is in Himself both Grace and Truth.
