Earn your American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification (Including Deep Water) through the Multnomah Athletic Club (multiple day course).

The dates and times of this course are as follows:<ul><li>May 29th: 4-8pm</li><li>May 30th: 8am-5pm</li><li>May 31st: 8am-5pm</li></ul>This is a blended learning course, which includes an online portion that takes about 7 hours to complete. A link to the online learning will be sent out 2 weeks before the start date to the email used to register, and must be completed before the first day of the class.PrerequisitesPrerequisite skills are covered on the first day of class. Candidates who do not complete the prerequisite skills to the instructor's satisfaction will not be eligible to participate in the remainder of the course. No refunds will be given, but a credit will be placed on the participant's account for one future course.Candidate must:<ul><li>Be 15 years old by the final scheduled session of the course.</li><li>Be able to preform a swim-tread-swim sequence continuously, demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. This sequence is 150 yards followed by 2 minutes of treading and another 50 yard swim. Candidates may swim using the front crawl (freestyle), breaststroke, or a combination of both. Swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Candidates must tread using only the legs, their hands should be placed under the armpits.</li><li>Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds: Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Swim goggles are not allowed. Surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to the starting point with both hands holding the object. Candidates should not swim the distance under water. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.</li></ul>Certifications Issued and Validity Period:<ul><li>American Red Cross certifications (Lifeguarding, CPR, AED and First Aid) will be emailed to participants within two weeks of course completion.</li><li>Certifications are valid for two years.</li></ul> Refund Policy Disclaimer:Please note that processing fees are non-refundable. If a refund is issued for any reason, only the base ticket price will refunded. The service fees will not be refunded, as they are retained by Eventbrite and not the organizer.
