6 Hr. A Coach Approach: For RCs, Counselors & Supervisors (June 30, 2026)

In this 6-hour workshop, participants will have the opportunity to engage in and practice using evidence-based coaching strategies and tools relevant to their work with substance use disorder, some of which include:

• The use of powerful questions and empathic reflections
• Using a coaching plan and a coaching working agreement
• Being "in the inquiry" vs. being "in the answer"
• Moving away from a focus on “helper as the expert” to the role of a coach who facilitates an inquiry-based and action-oriented process, viewing their client as the most important  resource (vs. object)
• Practice with several established coaching tools
• Staying out of judgment
