Overview

This course teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults.

The course will teach you how to apply the MHFA Action Plan (ALGEE):

Assess for risk of suicide or harm.

Listen nonjudgmentally.

Give reassurance and information.

Encourage appropriate professional help.

Encourage self-help and other support strategies.

All individuals wishing to attend must register separately. No bulk registrations please.

These sessions will be held over four 2-hour Zoom sessions on June 23, 30, July 7, and 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CST. Participants must attend all four sessions to receive a certificate of completion.
