The Hillside Club is a historic Berkeley Club. Founded in the late 19th century to promote good design practices in the Berkeley hills, the Hillside Club today is a community-based membership organization supporting the arts and culture.  We also rent the club as a venue for weddings, lectures, parties of all types, galas, fundraisers and more.

Join us for an afternoon of zydeco dancing! Feel free to dance zydeco or freestyle. No partner necessary. All ages.1:30 pm: Zydeco dance class with Andre Nigoghossian 2:00-5:00 pm: Live music and dancingNo stiletto heels allowed. Wear dance shoes, cowboy boots, or any other shoes!$20 advance tickets on eventbrite (through March 28th) $25 tickets at the door (cash or venmo) $15 for members of Hillside Club (use promo code)BYOB: beer and wine only; no hard alcohol allowed. Please bring your water bottles to save cups.Mark St. Mary's Louisiana Blues &amp; Zydeco Band is a 5-member band that plays traditional Louisiana blues and zydeco music. Dubbed the "Delta King" and awarded the "Best Zydeco Band" in 2007 by Bay Area Blues Society, Mark has been playing his traditional style of zydeco music since the age of 13. His music is best described as infectious - once the band starts playing, the crowd doesn't want him to stop, yelling "Play One More" over and over!Mark sings in both English &amp; Creole French. The band prides themselves in being able to give the crowd a variety, zydeco, blues, R&amp;B and even a lil' country. Followers of this music loves the excitement it brings and the joy they get from dancing to it, be it a waltz, two-step, line dance or a down-home flat-foot zydeco! With Mark's gift of gab, he comes prepared to really put on a show, making you not wanna sit down. We guarantee to keep you entertained, keeping the skirt-tails floppin' and the cowboy boots stompin'.
