Overview

CitySpace's two-day podcast festival for kids returns April 25-26, 2026 with performances presented by WBUR and friends!

Circle Round adapts age-old folktales from around the world into sound- and music-rich audio plays for modern kids ages 3-103. Join host Rebecca Sheir, composer Eric Shimelonis and a talented cast of actors as they bring two exciting folktales to life on stage. Both will be listener favorites chosen…by you! Cast your vote on the following stories as you purchase your tickets:

  • "One Good Turn" — In this story with variations told across the world, a rascally reptile learns an invaluable lesson about being stuck between a rock and a hard place.
  • "The Extraordinary Pine Cone" — A little generosity goes a long and magical way in this enchanting story from Estonia and Finland.
  • "The Laughing Canoe"— This Brazilian tale about a wise-cracking waterborne vessel shows the extraordinary surprises teamwork can bring.
  • "The Looking Glass" — The old saying "beauty is only skin deep" takes on a whole new meaning in this majestic tale from Portugal and Spain.
