Get ready for a rad week of shredding trails, learning new skills, and making friends at Slate Valley Trails Youth Mountain Bike Camp!

Welcome to the SVT Youth Mountain Bike Camp- July 27-31

Join us for a week filled with mountain biking, skills development, and outdoor exploration. This is a great opportunity for young riders to improve their mountain biking abilities and make new friends. Don't miss out on this exciting camp experience!

Please note- SVT will host up to 4 weeks of camp, and campers can sign up for more than just 1 week.

*Program Goals*

1. Develop & enhance mountain biking skills
2. Ride the trails safety and with confidence
3. Care for ourselves and each other (healthy mind, healthy body) and have fun!
4. Engage the local community

Who is this camp for?

Children ages 7-12
-Campers who register should have basic bike riding skills/know how to ride a bike, but do not need to have trail riding experience.

What to Bring:

Mountain Bike with bottle cage
Helmet
Water
Sneakers
Bagged Lunch
Water/water bottle that fits in bottle cage
Sunscreen
Bug Spray

Cancellation Policy:

SVT reserves the right to cancel camp for the day or week and an update will be posted on the youth programming webpage. Cancellation can occur up to 2 hours prior to the start of camp each day. Please check youth program web page for updates. Refunds are not possible due to the cost of supplies/equipment and staff oversight.

Transportation:

Students will be required to be dropped off and picked up by their guardians at the Fairgrounds Trailhead (131 Town Farm Road, Poultney)

What to Expect:
Each day will loosely follow this schedule:

9:00 AM – Check-In & Warm-Up
Sign in and get ready for the day
Warm up on the strider track

9:15 AM – Equipment & Safety Check
Quick inspection to ensure everyone is prepared

9:25–10:00 AM – Group Lesson & Demonstration
Learn a new skill through instruction and demonstration

10:00 AM – Snack & Hydration Break
Refuel with a snack and water

10:20–11:00 AM – Group Practice & Trail Time
Hands-on skill practice
Apply new skills on the trail

11:00 AM – Lunch Break
Take time to recharge with a meal

11:45 AM–1:15 PM – Trail Ride
Enjoy a guided ride on the trails
Snack breaks as needed

1:15–1:45 PM – Mountain Biking Games
Fun, playful challenges to reinforce skills

1:45 PM – Closing Circle
Reflect on the day’s adventures

2:00 PM – Pick-Up
Time to head home

What is included:
-Camp T-shirt (which kids will decorate)
-Name Plate (for bike)
-Trail Journal (so kids can reflect on their days of learning)
-Daily healthy snacks/snacks to bring while out on the trail
-Certified mountain bike coach instruction (our adult coaches are mountain bike certified)
-Teen Counselor Coaching
