Joyride by Washington Improv Theater
Buckle up! Joyride is a non-stop, high-energy improv performance series where the destination changes every weekend.
WIT is DC’s top spot for hilarious improv comedy. Our shows are surprising, smart, and totally unscripted, and feature the funniest improvisers in the region.
Home to a host of company ensembles, including the long-running musical improv group iMusical, the all-Black ensemble Lena Dunham, the scientifically-minded Hypothesis, and the all-woman ensemble Hellcat, WIT’s improvisers will have you rolling with laughter.
Inspired by a simple suggestion from the audience, each show is an unpredictable delight. In fact, most first-time audience members find it hard to believe that what they’re seeing is entirely made up on-the-spot. (It is!)
Four Weeks. Four Themes. Infinite Laughs.
Every weekend, Joyride shifts gears with a brand-new thematic focus:
- Jan. 30 – Feb. 1 | Welcome Aboard: We’re kicking things off with interactive, audience-driven shows that explore travel, transitions, and the joy of arriving together.
- Feb. 6 – Feb. 8 | Represent: A celebration of the beautiful, diverse communities that make DC (and WIT) what it is. Featuring special performances of The Cookout, a celebration of Black improv in the DMV, on Saturday, Feb. 7!
- Feb. 13 – Feb. 15 | Crazy in Love: Just in time for Valentine’s Day. We’re diving headfirst into the hilarious, messy, and heartwarming world of romance, dating, and partnership.
- Feb. 20 – Feb. 22 | And Now for Something Completely Different: The ultimate experimental playground, featuring brand-new formats and wild ideas seeing the light of day for the very first time.
Don’t blink—this Joyride only lasts four weeks. Grab your tickets now and help us celebrate the next chapter of WIT with a month of pure, cathartic fun!
EVERY SHOW FEATURES A DIFFERENT LINE-UP OF ACTS, SO CHECK OUT THE WHOLE SCHEDULE ON WIT'S WEBSITE: https://witdc.org/shows/joyride/
ABOUT WIT
WIT shows are perfect for a date night, out-of-towners visiting, or just something new and spontaneous to do. All for just $20.
For 25 years, Washington Improv Theater's experienced teams of improv comedians have taken a simple suggestion or story from an audience member and turned it into a never-before-seen comedy show. And because every performance is based on an audience suggestion, that night's show will never happen again! Our homegrown talent has gone on to SNL, The Daily Show, HBO's Insecure and The White Lotus, and more!
Accessible pricing
For those who experience cost as a barrier, a limited number of affordable pricing tickets are available using the code AFFORDABLE. Currently enrolled college students can get discounted tickets with the code COLLEGESTUDENT (be prepared to show student ID).
