This course provides continuity planners and program managers the tools necessary to help them develop a holistic continuity capability.

Course locationIn person location: Oregon Department of Emergency Management (OEM)3930 Fairview Industrial Dr SE Salem OR 973022-day Course May 11-12, 2026Course Description:The goal of this course is to provide continuity planners and program managers with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to help them develop a holistic continuity capability.Course Objectives<ul><li>Identify the groundwork for establishing a continuity program.</li><li>Explain the plans and procedures useful in developing a holistic continuity program.</li><li>Identify strategies for gaining or increasing leadership buy-in for a continuity program.</li><li>Identify the benefits of and methods for conducting continuity test, training, and exercise activities.</li><li>Review program evaluation methodologies to identify areas of improvement in your continuity program and how to implement program improvement activities.</li><li>Demonstrate knowledge of key concepts and strategies for developing a continuity program through scenario driven exercises.</li></ul>Prerequisites<ul><li><a href="https://training.fema.gov/is/courseoverview.aspx?code=IS-1300.a&amp;lang=en" title="https://training.fema.gov/is/courseoverview.aspx?code=IS-1300.a&amp;lang=en" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">IS-1300.a: Introduction to Continuity</a></li><li>ELK1301: Continuity Planning</li></ul>Attendance:Per FEMA standards, no more than 10% absenteeism is allowed to receive a certificate of completion.Accessibility Requests and Questions:If you have any questions, or to request any reasonable accommodations that will facilitate your full participation in this training, please contact the OEM Training Program (oem.training@oem.oregon.gov).
