Artist Talk: Tatiana Parcero
We are thrilled to present international artist Tatiana Parcero at the JSMA at PSU!
We are delighted to welcome internationally acclaimed artist Tatiana Parcero for a conversation with Estela Garzon, JSMA Senior Gallery Coordinator, about her artistic practice and work featured in Mapping Familiar Territories, Charting New Paths.
Parcero’s photographs layer anatomical imagery, pre-Columbian codices, and symbolic diagrams over her own body, exploring the interior self within social, historical, and political contexts. Working in black-and-white, red, and ocher, she creates striking, immersive self-portraits that map both physical and psychological landscapes. Join us for an engaging discussion about her process, influences, and the ideas that shape her work. Parcero is from Mexico City, MX and she currently resides in Buenos Aires, AR.
Support for this program is generously provided by the Richard & Helen Phillips Charitable Fund, the JSMA Exhibition Circle, and Mullowney Printing through the Undergrowth Educational Print Fund’s Federico Sevilla Sierra Memorial Printmaking Residency.
